CANCER
PREVENTION Cancers are increasing. What can you do to protect yourself?
There is a great deal of piecemeal information available but
you need to understand that cancer involves four stages. The stages are usually occur over
several years but can occur simultaneously.
WHAT IS CANCER?
Cancer is a disease of
UNCONTROLLED GROWTH that can affect any organ of the body. It is a process through which a
normal cell is released from normal growth control mechanisms and becomes rampant.
The principles are the same for all
cancers. The details differ according to which MUTAGENS and MITOGENS (see below) are
active.
YOU CAN PROTECT YOURSELF
FROM ALL CANCERS BY APPLYING ONE SET OF PRINCIPLES.
EXAMPLE: BREAST CANCER
Breast cancer is increasing throughout the world at an
alarming rate. In Australia today, one in eight women will suffer breast cancer at some
stage in her life.
We hear news about the discovery of breast cancer
genes yet only 5% of breast cancers are of this inherited type. Ninety five percent of
cases involve NO such inherited risk
Breast cancer is a disease of
urbanisation and modernisation. Put in the simplest terms, it is a disease of lifestyle.
Is there a single cause?
There is no single cause. Rather the progression of
the disease involves four different types of factors operating simultaneously or
sequentially.

stages on the dedicated page of my website The Lifestyle Doctor:

WHAT'S
THE GOOD NEWS? The great news is that without
becoming entirely a hermit or a nerd, you can make relatively simple changes in your
lifestyle to overcome or control these factors.
EVEN THOUGH IT WILL HELP, IT IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO
OVERCOME ONLY ONE OF THE FACTORS.
